The person I was communicating with had a negative undertone, made several unnecessary comments that were offensive and very hurtful. I gave this company one star because of the poor communication and lack of respect. I will definitely recommend Bluetails to anyone looking to adopt a fur baby! Less I appreciate the professionalism of the staff and how they ensure they are putting their animals in the best care. They provided us with informational paperwork for new animal parents, prior medical history, and dog food. We ended up adopting our fur baby last weekend where we picked him up at a local adoption event. I had corresponded with Tasha along the way who was extremely nice, professional, and patient with us. I had put in an application, which I thought they had a very thorough application and vetting process, where they reached out to our vets, references and ensured our home check met their approval. I had been following their Facebook page as my husband and I were looking to adopt another dog. We recently adopted through Bluetails and have to say we were impressed with their adoption process and care of dogs from the very beginning to the end. Couldn't be happy they rescued Walter and now i get to spoil this previously neglected old dog for the rest of his days. Blue Tails is thorough, annoyingly so, but it is so they know the dogs are going to be well cared for. I know people complain about the adoption fee, but considering the medical care, treatment and recovery time with a wonderful foster family (including infected eyes, atrophied muscles, and the cyst)- $275 was a bargain. I found Walter on petfinder, available through Blue Tails, who had rescued him from the Jeff Parish SPCA & paid for surgery to remove a cyst (that was a result of severe neglect).
Not just talking about this particular rescue, either.

I respect the work they do and love the general idea of rescuing animals as they are packed full of animals needing homes but unfortunately, I've tried to do just that close to 10 times and never has it happened. Going thru a Rescue is so very time consuming and the process is almost impossible. I'm giving 4 stars because I know it's a Rescue that is ran by volunteers and they have so many pets to tend to and people to email & call back but the process of trying to adopt an animal at a shelter or Rescue is absolutely an "Act of Congress"! It's so much easier to simply adopt or buy a pet from a breeder or personal owner.
